Social Studies

AP US History provides an in-depth and extensive look into our nation's past beginning with early colonization to the present day. The major objective of this course is to prepare each student for higher level college work by making demands equivalent to those of introductory college courses in American History. Students will be require to write a book review each term and to complete one historical research paper during the course of a term. In May, students will have the opportunity to take the AP exam in an effort to receive college credit for taking the course. The class requires a lot of reading, writing, and basic understanding of US History and Government before beginning the course.
